I think branding animals is WRONG. If you lose your animal, you lose your animal. Scarring them for life is mean, wrong and inhumane. IT IS NOT NATURAL.

Editor's note: And so what happens to the animal after you "lose" it? Will someone else care for it? Will they feed it and doctor it and all the things we care about. And as for "natural," nothing man does can be considered natural, including domesticating animals. Most of us carry "scars" from "humane" small pox injections and consider that a small price to pay for protection from a disease. Branding can be considered in the same light. However, if you do not choose to protect your animals with a brand, other options are available. Thankfully, we are still in America where we can choose.
