Quick
Keeper for the Throat Latch
on Your Bridle
Have
you ever wished there were a
better way to keep the
throat latch on your bridle
from falling out or being
all on one side when you go
to bridle your horse? This
handy quick fix comes to us
from Twister Heller,
horse
trainer, of Congress,
Arizona.
You
may use a small horseshoe
shaped piece of wire or
small staple as a stop for
the throat latch. Simply
press or tap the wire firmly
into the left side leather
of the throat latch of the
bridle. Make sure it is in
the correct spot to keep the
brow band square on the
horse's face and resting
comfortably in front of the
ears and to allow the throat
latch to fasten in the
proper position. The throat
latch can't pull up through
the brow band and be
lop-sided or worse--lost.
The throat latch stays in
the right position every
time without readjustment.
This comes in particularly
handy if you are riding a
series of different horses
with the same headstall.
